My Web Design Process

Data Review

If provided access, I’ll take a look under the hood to see how the current website is performing. Any successful website re-design or page enhancement starts with establishing where you are now to be able to properly impact the next iteration. Should access not be provided, recommendations will be based off industry trends and 2024 best practices for UX and UI design.

Sitemap Review and/or Enhancement

Next, we’ll collaborate on the website content structure, which guides how visitors move through your website and helps create a relationship between pages and components of your site. I’ll organize sub-pages and bring clarity to the user experience and flow.

Wireframing & Design Mockups

First, we’ll nail down the home page design mockup (which sets the stage for all remaining pages), and web style guide. Approval on header, CTA’s & overall style will fast-track the remaining template designs. Both mobile & desktop designs will be created and shared for review. Final approval required to move into development

What you can expect from me...

The 3 steps listed above are just a general look into my web design process and pretty much carry throughout any web project.

Let's say you don't need a full website redesign, and are just looking for a single page enhancement...I will still review whatever data I can and research industry trends, tied in with UX best practices, and review the overall sitemap and content structure of the existing site to see where the new page ties in and analyze other content blocks that might make sense adding to this page. I will then review if there are improvements to be made, and then wireframes and/or mockups will be provided.

My full design process ranges from initial strategy planning, content congruency analysis, discovery calls with key stakeholders, sitemap creation, wireframe development, mockup design, collaborating with developers to launch and QA final site.
